When it comes to maintaining the purity and taste of your drinking water, the right refrigerator water filter can make all the difference. The GLACIER FRESH FPPWFU01 Frigidaire PurePour Water Filter Replacement promises to deliver cleaner, fresher water right from your fridge. Designed as an OEM-compatible replacement filter, it aims to blend seamlessly with Frigidaire appliances and enhance your hydration experience. In this review, we’ll dive deep into its features, benefits, and whether it’s the right fit for your home.
Key Features
Upgraded Filter Head Design
While visually different from the original Frigidaire filters, the GLACIER FRESH filter features an upgraded head designed for improved stability and durability. This means the filter is less prone to loosening or leaks, helping maintain consistent water quality.
Stable Compatibility despite Visual Differences
Even though the filter head looks different, it remains fully OEM-compatible. It fits perfectly in Frigidaire refrigerators, ensuring easy installation without compatibility issues. The company recommends following their installation video to lock the filter in at the proper angle to prevent damage from forced insertion.
High-Quality Activated Carbon from Sri Lanka
The filter uses a carbon block made from high-grade Sri Lankan activated carbon. This carbon has a honeycomb structure with uniform pore sizes, which enhances its ability to intercept and remove particles, chlorine, and contaminants. This ultimately results in better-tasting and cleaner filtered water.
Initial Flushing is Normal
Customers may notice the water coming out cloudy or gray after the first installation. This is due to some loose carbon particles inside the filter from shipping. Flushing 2-3 gallons of water through the filter clears this up, ensuring pure water thereafter.
Slower Water Flow Rate Indicates Effective Filtration
After installing a new GLACIER FRESH filter, the water flow rate might slow down. While this can be concerning at first glance, it actually means the filter is working effectively to clean your water.
Affordable Price Point
At $15.99 for a single pack, this filter presents an affordable option for those looking to replace their Frigidaire water filter without breaking the bank.
